BlackRock's Fixed Income team manages more than $1.2 trillion in global fixed income assets across index, active long-only, alternative, and liability driven strategies. The platform offers fixed income investors one of the industry's broadest array of investment choices across index, model-based and fundamental investment styles.
The Strategy team is responsible for product development and commercialization, design of fixed income investment solutions for clients, providing thought leadership on fixed income, and business ownership by "owning" the PL of fixed income.
Responsibilities:
- Support the portfolio management team in the day to day strategy and operations of existing fixed income mutual funds
- Support the senior members of the Product Strategy Team in disseminating information regarding funds and questions pertaining to broader markets
- Partner with sales and marketing in institutional and retail channels to raise fund awareness
- Prepare for client and prospect meetings including pitch book updates, portfolio review and analysis and market updates
- Create and maintain marketing materials for fixed income funds
Preferred Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience with fixed income mutual fund or strategies
- Experience working closely with portfolio management or investment teams
- Basic understanding of the sales process for the institutional channel
- Familiarity with the RFP/RFI process and experience responding to requests from institutional consultants
Requirements/Skills:
- Working toward completion of CFA program is preferred
- Attention to detail is a critical skill
- Ability to synthesize data from BlackRock's proprietary analytical systems in a way that easy to understand and relevant for client discussions
- Proficient in excel, ability to manipulate data in a spreadsheet
- Highly proficient in power point, ability to create marketing slides, enhance our sale pitch, and update data
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task quickly and efficiently
- Self-starter who can work effectively with a team as well as independently
- BA/BS required
