Business Unit Overview:

The Aladdin trading and risk management system, used internally at BlackRock and by BlackRock Solutions clients, enables customers to manage over $5 trillion in financial assets. Aladdin is central to our technology strategy, unifying BlackRock by providing everyone with a common language and a central point of reference for our investment activities globally.

The Aladdin and Application Engineering teams within the Aladdin Technology group use the latest technologies to design and develop applications that make up the firm’s investment management platform. The systems support the full lifecycle of the investment management process, from quantitative risk management to order entry, trade routing and settlement.

The Distribution Solutions (DS) team creates and drives the vision, strategic development, implementation, and ongoing support of Web, Marketing and Sales CRM Applications / tools across BlackRock businesses and regions. This team also manages client information and reporting systems and ensures reliable efficient management and access to those.

Job Purpose/Background:

This role will report to the EMEA Head of DS and will work closely with the EMEA and global Retail COO team(s) in addition to regional leads in LatAm, NA and APAC. Working alongside other functional heads and internal stakeholders this position will have technology accountability for our Retail online presence and Sales Marketing tools and will function as overall Technology Point of Contact for the EMEA Retail Global Client Group (GCG).

The Relationship Manager will be responsible for the identification, prioritisation and coordination of Web and CRM projects as well as on-going BAU initiatives. He/She will provide strategic leadership/vision and oversee execution of a short and long term key initiatives. Responsibilities include servicing our clients, building deep relationships with key stakeholders, developing a thorough understanding of BlackRock’s EMEA Retail business in addition to an understanding where global strategic technology platforms and capabilities can be leveraged or enhanced.

The ideal candidate is strategic but hands on, collaborative, pragmatic and consultative. He/she should possess the ability to instinctively identify opportunities to scale and leverage solutions across BlackRock’s global platforms. This role requires an experienced manager who is easily able to articulate complex concepts and solutions in a clear and compelling way. This to drive buy-in, garner prioritization and advocate the value-set across business stakeholders and delivery partners. Influencing skills are essential as this leader will indirectly manage (project) teams and will work in a dynamic global matrix organisation going through rapid growth.
