Retail Sales and Relationship Manager – Vice President recruitment

International Retail The International Retail Business works in partnership with clients across EMEA, Asia Pacific, Australia, Latin America and Japan. Clients include retail and private banks, insurance companies, financial advisor networks and distribution platforms. The International Retail Business is supported by 24 offices and cross channel functional team which serve clients in 40 countries. The product range includes open-ended funds, closed-ended funds and alternative investments. The flagship Luxembourg-domiciled BlackRock Global Funds (BGF) is distributed across 36 countries and includes a broad range of equity, fixed income, balanced and cash funds. Separately, there are domestic fund ranges in the UK, Japan and Australia.
Job Purpose/Background: Take responsibility for Sales and Client Relationship Management as well as researching and prospecting new Strategic Alliances clients in the UK. Responsible for helping to deliver against strategy set for the UK Retail Market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and relationship management for strategic alliances clients, predominantly life companies and platforms, as lead RM or as part of a relationship team.
- Seek out mandates and opportunities.
- Engage with senior management, internally and externally, both to position BlackRock as a preferred and insightful partner to our clients and articulate strategy and market knowledge to senior Blackrock management.
- Oversight of client sales force engagement and pitches.
- Strategic account planning and development.
- Pitching for mandates including DC mandates.
- Oversight of marketing interaction in conjunction with senior marketeers both within BlackRock and at our clients.
- Understand regulatory changes and keep abreast of market trends - use this to shape propositions.
- Engage with internal teams such as Platinum, GCR, BRS, TRIM, iShares, Cash, FIG and international sales teams to deliver ‘One BlackRock’ to clients and consultants.

Knowledge/Experience:
- Good knowledge of the client landscape in the UK Retail marketplace, preferably life companies and platforms.
- Firm understanding of the sales process, prospecting, objection handling, closing and long term relationship management.
