POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:    Sales Associate

 

REPORTS TO:    Management Team

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:    Assists the Management Team in all aspects of running the store including sales generation and operations - to ensure maximum profitability and compliance with company procedures as directed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:    Sales Associate assists the Management Team with the following duties:

 

1.     Sales Generation and Customer Service

·                    Maintains a high level of customer service

·                    Strives to achieve store sales goals

·                    Maximizes selling during heavy traffic periods

·                    Maintains adequate sales floor supervision

·                    Ensures all corporate customer service policies are adhered to

·                    Ensures all special orders and TWI’s are looked after

·                    Communicates product knowledge to customers

·                    Sells and suggestive sells

·                    Sends thank you cards to clients/customers

 

 

2.     Store Presentation

·                    Ensures the maintenance of company merchandising standards

·                    Monitors compliance to company dress code

·                    Ensures standards of cleanliness and organization meet company standards

 

 

 

 

3.     Operations

·                    Must prioritize daily TO DO LISTS with Management Team

·                    Maintains integrity of purchase orders

·                    Ensures stock is on the floor and stockrooms are kept organized and clean

·                    Is knowledgeable in procedures for receiving stock shipments and handling defective merchandise

·                    Ensures returns are done on a timely basis

·                    Ensures catalogue requests are mailed

·                    Ensures photocopies are available

·                    Monitors inventory supply levels

·                    Promptly and accurately completes all paperwork procedures

·                    Performs daily banking deposits and change requisitions

·                    Requisitions for supplies as needed to Management Team

·                    Assists in controlling expenses

·                    Maintains store safety standards

·                    Perform all other duties as assigned by Management Team

·                    Recognizes fellow Associates with recognition program

 

 

 

4.     Qualifications    Sales Associate should possess the following requirements:

·                    Should have excellent communication and sales skills

·                    Should be able to manoeuvre around sales floor and stockroom

·                    Should be knowledgeable with store register

·                    Needs to be able to lift and carry 30lbs and to help to lift and carry heavier items
