ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will report to the SVP of Leasing-Gift to obtain renewal leases from current permanent showroom tenants and assists in relocations and expansions through telephone, direct mail and personal contact. The position will generate prospects for Gift Industry and learn how to execute lease data sheets, lease agreements, lease amendments, etc. and work with the legal department to obtain an understanding of the AMC, Inc. legal rules and guidelines for lease execution. Will cold call prospects via telephone, email, and tradeshow travel to obtain new business and work with leasing team to learn the gift leasing business and the AmericasMart processes. The position will travel, as needed, with Leasing sales team to trade shows in an effort to identify new business and increase current business. Will develop an understanding of the revenue projections and budgets of the gift industry and support and participate in “special projects” as needed by the leasing sales team (i.e. corridor construction projects). The position will develop/maintain relationships with existing Gift showroom exhibitors through day-to-day direct contact with the principles and their sales representatives; understand exhibitors’ businesses and needs. Will develop working relationship with Retail Services, Marketing, and Operations as it relates to servicing the customer developing the business. The position will assist and direct public relations department in the preparation of news releases and become a Mart “expert” and assist in further education of our staff as well as actively promoting the specific industries. Will work to obtain as much industry knowledge as possible by networking with industry leaders and associations and reading trade publications. The position will participate in initial construction meeting with new exhibitors and assists in follow through and correspond with Development Office regarding scale drawings, tenant improvements, etc.

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

Undergraduate degree from four-year college or university is preferred; minimum 2 years prior related sales experience in commercial leasing is highly desired; prior related work experience in the Gift or similar industry, is strongly preferred. Candidate should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, written and listening skills. Should be familiar with how to prospect customers, explain product value and feature and close sales calls on the telephone or face-to-face.  Candidate must possess flexibility, initiative and be attentive to details and have the ability to produce results while managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment. Must be able to demonstrate past sales performance
