The Retirement Plan Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of a team of Retirement Plan Specialists, Retirement Plan Sales Consultants, TPA Retirement Plan Coordinators and PlanPremier TPA Resource Representatives, including managing the environment, business, people, and projects in order to achieve expected divisional business unit (DBU) results. Managers are expected to ensure DBU objectives are met and all necessary work is completed including executing tasks such as conducting sales and scheduling calls, generating proposals and following up on outstanding proposals as needed. Other responsibilities include providing guidance and coaching to associates, team managers, peers and others as appropriate; analyzing and resolving business issues; recommending and participating in the implementation of process changes or initiatives; and assisting department senior managers and others as needed.

Qualifications

  • Understands and can execute all elements of the retirement plan pre- and post-sales processes
  • Background in marketing and distributing retirement plans, 401(k), SIMPLE, PSP, MPP, SEP, ER/EE 403(b)
  • General knowledge of retirement plan design, terminology, regulations, and procedures, as well as knowledge of competitors and industry practices
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in managing others
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to deliver persuasive, concise and well-organized presentations and messages
  • Excellent listening and probing skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
