Revenue Accountant, Major Investment Management Firm

City based Asset Management Firm in London are currently recruiting for their global revenue team. This team is responsible for the calculation, recording and reporting of revenues for all segregated portfolios across the group.

A key responsibility of the team is to ensure that revenues are captured accurately in the general ledger. The team prepares commentary for the Financial Control and Management Reporting teams to allow them to meet financial, regulatory and management reporting requirements. To facilitate this, the team aims to employ best practice processes and automated systems to minimise manual intervention whilst maintaining effective controls.

The team is responsible for understanding, preparing and reconciling all elements of segregated income including income-related Balance Sheet accounts. In addition the team is responsible for other income streams including Structured Products and Hedge Fund revenues. A number of income attribution models to share income worldwide across the group in accordance with group transfer pricing policy are maintained within the team.

Overview of role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Review of monthly income for segregated portfolios;
• Operation of fee ceding models to allocate income earned to other group companies;
• Review of income accounts within the Oracle general ledger and production of relevant reporting to Financial Control and Management Accounting teams;
• Liaison with the Financial Control team and auditors for ledger issues relating to revenue;
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
• Developing a clear understanding of the interaction of movements in Funds under Management and the impact on revenues;
• Identifying, recommending and implementing control and efficiency improvements to the monthly processing cycle;
• Ensuring performance fee agreements comply with the Performance Fees Policy;
• Producing standardised procedures documentation;
• Acting as the principal contact in respect of revenue information for a number of locations.

Essential Skills

• Experience in a large finance function – preferably a blue chip organisation.
• Experience in Financial Services is preferable and experience in Asset management would be advantageous.
• Experience in providing a high level of customer service and building relationships with internal and external customers essential.
• Strong Excel skills essential (complex functions but macros not required).
Desirable Skills
Systems literacy and experience with using ledgers essential, and experience in using Oracle Financials and HFM would be beneficial.
