The Revenue Cycle Business Analyst is responsible for being the Divisional based revenue cycle systems expert for hospital based services and leading systems changes to drive continuous improvement in hospital and physician billing and collection processes through optimal use of our revenue cycle systems. In addition, this position serves as first responder to revenue cycle system day-to-day systems problems and serves as primary liaison to HIS technical staff regarding problem resolution. Thirdly, this position serves as a member of a new revenue optimization team that designs and aids in implementing software applications and operational tools to alert management of opportunities for new avenues of revenue enhancement or revenues being missed due to operational errors. Leads efforts to document and flowchart revenue cycle processes and identify opportunities to shorten the overall process and/or add increased internal controls. Establish monitoring program to ensure accuracy of data flow across all revenue cycle system interfaces. Leads ongoing development of revenue cycle management reports and serve as liaison with IT defining ad hoc reporting needs of GFH revenue cycle staff on a day-to-day basis to solve business issues.
Education/Experience:
4-year degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and minimum of 5 years experience in revenue cycle, analysis and design preferred. (Or 2-year degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field and minimum of 8 years experience in revenue cycle, analysis and design.)
Broad range of knowledge of hospital and physician office revenue cycle systems and associated business practices and specialized knowledge in financial operations.
