RF Engineer
Our Client is seeking experienced a RF Planning and Optimisation Engineer to join their national telecommunication team.
To be considered for this role you will possess:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience required
- 3-5 years working within a Telecommunications industry
- Working knowledge of 4G and 3G planning and optimisation processes
- Experience in the design and optimisation of radio access networks for the mobile carrier industry
- Understanding of Radio Traffic Management
- Experience with scrambling code planning and neighbouring optimisation
- Have experience in statistical analysis – able to present and report areas of improvement
- Capacity implementation skills
- Understanding and working knowledge of drive test measurement/analysis tools
- Experience of network benching and service quality monitoring
- Experience in Backhaul Network
- Operation of RF Engineering tools such as Asset, TEMS, NEMO, OptPCS
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Use of Radio network planning tools to assess and plan coverage and capacity planning
- Ensure optimal provision of network in detailed sites
- Working to SLA’s of QoS
- Drive Test measurement
- Reporting possible faults and problem and suggestion resolutions or alternatives
- Implementation of site configuration
- Monitoring and recording performance of service and frequency of use
- Assist with new technology evaluation, tools development, practises and procedures
- GSM frequency planning and frequency hopping by applying C/I ratio analysis
- Provide frequency planning for new site installs and upgrades
- Create Visual Basic scripts to increase processing of network performance data
