Our client is in need of a RFP/ Proposal Writer to start asap! Job Title: RFP/ Proposal Writer Duration: 2-3 months to start and then possible Direct hire Location: Seattle WA Rate: $25/hr on W2 *** local candidates only please*** Background Request for Proposal Specialist will research, write, and refine content for Requests for Proposals submitted to the client by customer prospects, ensuring readability, technical accuracy, marketing of product advantages and key differentiators, and conformance with company brand/style guidelines, while meeting rigorous project deadlines often with little lead time. The RFP specialist is responsible from proposal development from end to end, and must work closely with sales, product management, and marketing team to collect information and develop responses to a variety of requests for information, while positively positioning and portraying service benefits and value. Proposal production includes developing technical responses, crafting cover letters, incorporating pricing and legal details, and formatting these documents for print, production, and shipping. In addition to working with senior managers at all levels of the company, the RFP Coordinator interacts with product management and sales to integrate pricing into formal proposal documents, and interacts with subject matter experts to update product information and positioning and to customize proposals to the agreed-upon sales strategy. Key Responsibilities - Manage, coordinate and lead RFP project from initial receipt through RFP delivery - Write, edit, organize, and package responses to Request for Proposals in compliance with client requirements. - Lead RFP kick off meetings with subject matter experts throughout the organization and ensure the sales positioning is concurrent with sales strategy for each proposal - Work collaboratively with team members throughout the company to obtain information needed to produce deliverables - Proofread proposal for content, grammar, style and formatting - Keep current on program, technical and product and service enhancements or changes as they occur. - Contribute to creating and distributing information on improving processes in proposal cycle to team and business partners. - Measure RFP responses against industry best-practices and insert key differentiators and marketing materials to craft superior responses Additional Responsibilities - Develop and facilitate relationships with key business partners/stakeholders - Pursue additional opportunities for Requests for Proposal - Maintain RFP ?knowledgebase? of technical information and update with new enhancements as they occur - Draft product-specific ?template? RFPs to be provided to prospects who are currently entering the RFP writing process - Manage and update RFP database with responses from recent proposals. - Track RFP success rate and pricing proposed Requirements - BS/BA degree required: Specialization in Business, Marketing, or Journalism preferred - Extensive knowledge of RFP process - Ability to understand technical aspects of services and restate in clear, concise writing - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written - Excellent editing and proofreading skills - Strong research and analytic skills - Team player, with leadership and management skills - Detail-oriented and maintains a high level of accuracy in work - Ability to work with little supervision as well as ability to request supervision or assistance when necessary to meet deadlines. - Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topic. - Ability to write accurately about a topic or concept immediately after introduction. - Ability to interact with individuals throughout the organization, from technical staff to executive staff - Technical knowledge: understanding of technology, hosted/ASP systems, servers, Web 2.0, is preferred - Knowledge of the library industry is preferred - Excellent organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project and PowerPoint applications preferred
