RFP Specialist- Associate / Vice President recruitment

Business Unit Overview:

Global Consultant Relations (GCR) plays a key role in aiding the effort to win new business. The team essentially consists of two main elements; RFP (Request For Proposal) and consultant relationship responsibilities. The role on offer is to complete RFPs for strategic clients.

Job Purpose/Background:

The RFP function within Global Consultant Relations is uniquely positioned within the business at BlackRock. Working closely with both product areas and sales teams; and covering the UK, Europe and Far East; the team presents an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to these areas of the business and to gain a wealth of knowledge about the workings of BlackRock, it’s position in the market and the products we manage.

The team liaises closely with colleagues across the Global Client Group and Portfolio Management Group to deliver high quality, consistent and cohesive quantitative and qualitative information to prospects and consultants. You will play an important role in this critical component of winning new business.

Key Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity to work on BlackRock’s proposals for large strategic clients selling a wide range of products including LDI, fixed income, equity and alternative investments. This is a significant RFP role that involves putting together complex solutions for large scale clients.

• Understand BlackRock’s products, strategies, structure and unique selling points; communicate these in completing RFPs and other new business related documents to win assets.

• Forge a partnership with the product teams to develop a full understanding of the team and how they invest money on behalf of clients

• Contribute to continual population and development of the proposals database, refreshing and improving answers on an ongoing basis

They will also have the opportunity to work with many of our key internal clients including those in our European and Asian offices. Skills/Experience:

• Ideally the successful candidate will have experience from an Asset Management firm with exposure to RFPs. Candidates with an Investment banking background with proven RFP experience would also suit the position

• European languages an advantage especially French or Dutch

• Demonstration of good investment knowledge across key asset classes.

• Fixed Income or LDI knowledge an advantage

• Strong and evident relationship management skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• A motivated individual that demonstrates drive and enthusiasm. Willing to learn, innovate and improve

• Team player and an enthusiastic “want to do business” attitude

• Good organisational skills, ability to manage own priorities and meet hard deadlines

• Attention to detail and quality is essential
