Job Description
Toyota Motor Engineering Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA) is the alignment of Toyota's North American RD and manufacturing operations, joining the operations, planning and technical functions. Established in April 2006, TEMA strengthens Toyota's North American customer focus, through improved supplier cooperation, overall speed, flexibility and attention to quality. TEMA headquarters in Erlanger, KY, house the Toyota Operations Center the Toyota Planning Center. The main offices for the Toyota Technical Center are in Ann Arbor and Saline, MI. This position is supporting the Vehicle Performance Development (VPD4) Department located in Wittman, AZ.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Lead both development and research projects for ride handling
- Create maintain evaluation plans and schedules
- Use prediction tools
- Perform subjective and objective evaluations
- Analyze objective data and correlate to subjective results
- Create clear conclusions and recommend direction
- Create technical and business reports
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum four (4) years automotive industry experience - vehicle dynamics and subjective evaluation experience strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment
- Willingness to work overtime and travel (domestic international)
- Proficiency with MS Office programs, esp. Excel
- Other preferred qualifications include:
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and/or chassis systems
- Strong interest in automobiles
- Objective evaluation analysis experience
- Experience with MATLAB and/or vehicle dynamics simulation tools
- High-performance driving skills
- Hands-on automotive mechanical skills
