Purpose of the Role:
- FXCM is seeking to mature its Risk Management function; as a result of this, there is a job opening for a Risk Analyst to join the Risk Department in London.
- FXCM is seeking a Risk Professional with Risk Assessment, Data and Process Analysis experience in the Financial Services Industry.
- The Risk Analyst will act as a second line of defence and interface with the On-Exchange Dealing Desk in London; the FX CFD Dealing Desks in New York to monitor and report, Client Equity Levels, Client Usable Margins, and Client Margin Calls for the Risk Department.
- The Risk Analyst in his/her capacity as second line of defence will monitor and oversee that Client Margin Calls and Close-Outs are instigated in a timely manner in accordance with Client Margin Call Procedures.
- The Risk Analyst shall ensure that Risk Policy requirements and documented Risk Control Procedures pertaining to the Dealing Desks are adhered to and any deviation, Client Limit Breaches or non-compliance with policies and procedures are reported and escalated to the Risk Officer in a timely manner.
- The Risk Analyst will assist in the development, management and monitoring of Key Risk Performance Indicators, assist with Risk Assessments of FXCM Credit Clients, FXCM Third-Party Services and FXCM Counterparties.
- The Risk Analyst as part of their second line of defence role will assist with the maintenance of FXCM’s Risk Control Processes and Activities and Implementation of FXCM’s GRC Platform.
Key Duties Responsibilities:
- Interface with the On-Exchange, FX CFD Dealing Desk and develop and maintain close working relationships
- Responsible for analysing, monitoring and reporting, Client Equity Levels, Client Usable Margins, Client Margin Calls and Close-Outs for the Risk Department
- Act as a second line of defence to oversee the margin call process for the On-Exchange, CFD FX Dealing Desks
- The Risk Analyst shall be responsible for ensuring the On-Exchange, FX CFD Dealing Desks are complying with Policy requirements and Control Procedures
- Develop and provide weekly and monthly risk management reports on On-Exchange, CFD and FX Dealing Desks for the Risk Department
- Undertake Risk Assessments of Credit Clients, Third-Party Services and Counterparties
- Assist with data management for the risk dashboard, management of Risk Control Processes, requirements gathering and analysis for the new GRC Platform
Skills and Experience:The successful candidate for this position is likely to have the following background and skill-set:
- Experience working in a Risk Function, Reporting or Project Management environment in the Financial Services Industry
- Experience in performing Risk Assessments, Data Analysis or Process Analysis in a Front Office Environment
- Knowledge of FX, CFD, Futures Options, Equity, Commodity products traded on UK, US and European Exchanges
- Understanding Front Office operational activities, processes and control procedures in an Exchange Trading OTC environment
- Strong Analytical skills and attention to detail is essential
- IT Skills - Microsoft Excel, VBA or SQL
- Comfortable liaising with Front Office and Operations staff
- Ability to work well as part of a team and individually
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work in the UK (No Visa Sponsorship)
- Risk Professional Certification is desirable but not essential
