Risk Analyst, Front Office recruitment
Front Office Risk are tasked with providing in-depth analysis of the trading books and strategies to assess risk. Such analysis is then documented and presented to senior management. This team are highly visible and intelligent risk analysis, excellent report writing and strong business relationship building is key. This team are less involved with number crunching, which is managed by the Market Risk Team.
Responsibilities:
- Daily interaction with trading desk to facilitate analysis of key trading strategies
- Articulate analysis and identify risk issues
- Intelligent Analysis and evaluation of risk embedded in new business transactions
- Generate and articulate intelligent analysis of risk embedded in new and existing transactions
- Support trading and origination teams in developing proposals for new business activities
- Support the co-ordination of new business
- Evaluate risk issues within trading activities across energy complex.
- Ongoing and ad-hoc analysis of price, position and risk information in support of Front Office Risk team.
- Generate and articulate intelligent analysis of risk embedded in new and existing transactions.
Experience / Attributes required:
- Experience in risk management including quantitative analysis responsibilities within an investment bank or energy trading company
- Experience of interacting directly with traders and working in a front office trading environment
- Knowledge of energy commodities, power market knowledge is desirable
- May suit candidates from a market risk, product control or trading analyst background
- Strong Excel, VBA and Access skills essential
- Knowledge of energy price risk management desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy of information
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills including a good knowledge of statistics
- Ability to fully communicate in a multi-faceted team environment
