Primary Job Responsibilities PayPal is the world?s leader in online payments processing. The company helps buyers and sellers around the world make and receive payments. PayPal is headquartered in San Jose, CA with multiple offices within the United States and around the world. Risk is one of PayPal?s core competencies and is a key contributor to the company?s profitability and the customer value proposition, which is focused on secure payments. The Risk team is responsible for the global approach to assessing various buyer-side and seller-side risks PayPal takes on (including identity fraud, seller fraud, account takeover, credit) and the treatments, actions and experiences triggered by the results of the Risk assessment and used by PayPal to control losses. We are looking to add a college graduate to the team in Austin, TX. Responsibilities Drive high-impact projects in the Policy or Product/Experience area (e.g., collusion fraud, user authentication product, credit card model, bank risk monitoring dashboard) Significant level of accountability for performance of the area of ownership Day-to-day responsibilities - Policy / Product and Experience Identifying (via research, analysis, brainstorming) vulnerabilities / gaps / opportunities within the current portfolio of PayPal?s Consumer Risk controls Building a business case for the opportunity ? sizing the benefit or the magnitude of the potential loss exposure Based on the analysis, formulating a policy to ensure the optimal balance between user experience, business enablement, and loss exposure related to the planned innovations / improvements Advocating with Risk and Business Unit leadership to gain agreement around the business case and allocate resources to the proposed approach for capturing the benefit Partnering with other groups within and outside Risk to implement and deploy a new solution/experience.
