Risk Analyst LNG recruitment
This new role is an exciting opportunity for a Market Risk Analyst with 2-4 years experience to join a leading energy trading house. You will need to have some exposure to energy trading and ideally knowledge of LNG. The role will involve providing risk analysis for new products being developed by the Origination teams and developing new methodologies and risk management frameworks to support the new products. You will also work with a number of stakeholders in the development of these frameworks
You will need to have the following background:
• Understanding and use of corporate risk management practices with an emphasis on market risks
• Understanding and use of risk reports (e.g. Value at Risk) and their role within corporate governance
• Understanding of key risk metrics (e.g. how Value-at-Risk is calculated)
• Ability to understand business context and to think strategically
• Track record of independently forming innovative solutions
• Energy Market Risk Experience for multiple physical and financial commodities including gas, power, LNG, carbon, foreign exchange, oil, coal, and freight is highly desirable. However, we will consider candidates who have trading risk experience from non-commodity backgrounds (e.g. bonds, equities) or candidates who operated as a consultant in these marke
• Very strong analytical skills
• Candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to work closely with all business stakeholders in the front/ middle/ back offices. Ability to understand and assess problems, then devise and present solutions
