Duties/Job Responsibilities
  The general requirements for the position are as follows:
Overall Risk:
? Generate and analyze risk data, information and reports related to the trading and asset management businesses
? Provide a key control point within the risk management group to ensure timely, accurate and compliant risk reporting
? Assist in the development, configuration, testing, implementation, analysis and maintenance of various risk processes (using Excel, Access, SQL, VB, etc.) and systems (e.g. OpenLink Endur)
? Perform various analysis related to data requests from accounting, finance, I/S operations, trading, legal, outside rating agencies, publications, internal audit, external audit and other internal requests
? Maintain procedures and process-level documentation on various aspects of the Risk Management functions

Credit Risk:
? Manage the credit risk of the corporation and assist in the management of the company’s current and future liquidity position
? Manage daily counterparty collateral issued or received and ensure appropriate collateral allocation across business units, including utilization of the Exchange PC-Span margin tool; resolve counterparty collateral disputes where necessary
? Prepare/Review the credit terms of contracts with counterparties to ensure the credit risk is within the  corporation's risk appetite
? Prepare credit information for inclusion in regulatory filings to credit rating agency, internal/external audit, and senior management reporting
? Continually and proactively monitor the creditworthiness and credit exposures of a portfolio of counterparties
? Analyze utilities, energy companies, independent power producers, coal producers, and other energy industry related entities; incorporating public utility commission rulings into the analysis and identify potential regulatory changes that could adversely affect the credit status of the counterparty
 

Risk Control: 
? Perform daily profit and loss report validation and analysis for the various trading businesses
? Monitor trade positions and deals against business, portfolio, product, strategy and trader limits to ensure the company stays within established limits and authorizations (Value-at-Risk, volume, duration, etc.) per corporate Policy Policies Procedures, Exchange Clearing Broker Limits, and CFTC Limits
? Calculate and maintain power pool financial congestion contract (FTR/TCC/CRR) auction results that are used in the daily mark-to-market valuation process
? Assist in the reporting of asset gross margin profit and loss and volume positions for numerous multi-commodity physical, financial, and generation unit model deals, hedges and outputs
? Maintain, monitor and validate deals, positions, open trade equity (MTM), settlements and margin requirements for all Exchange / Cleared Broker Accounts
? Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all CME/Nymex, ICE, CCFE, Nodal, and VMAC power, gas, oil, emissions and coal deals as well as being a point of contact with the clearing brokers’ client representatives

Knowledge/Skills
? Varied background in financial analysis including financial valuation, mark-to-market (MTM), profit loss reporting, credit, accounting, audit, and statistics is desired
? Familiarity with various aspects of risk management and the energy industry; particularly profit and loss calculations, credit risk, and volume position reporting for trading and asset-based businesses
? Knowledge of Exchange / Cleared (e.g. CME/Nymex, ICE, CCFE, etc.) commodity products
? Knowledge of energy trading risk management systems is a plus (e.g. OpenLink Endur)
? Ability to develop, test and apply new processes and reports for monitoring day-to-day Risk Control and Credit Risk functions across the trading and asset portfolios
? Ability to work independently and in a team with a diverse set of people throughout the organization; particularly the risk, trading, asset management, operations and accounting departments
? Strong analytical and systematic thinking skills; ability to take a logical, orderly approach when considering and weighing alternatives, assessing risks and planning action; ability to provide clear, concise and thorough outputs
? Strong problem-solving and project management skills with a commitment to follow through on all open action items
? Strong communication and organizational skills; attention to detail with the ability to comprehend the big picture

Technical/Functional
? Strong technical experience in Access, SQL, Excel Macros and VB, including the ability to use Excel to develop financial models, is required

Education/Training
? Minimum of 2-3 years related experience is required.
? Bachelor’s degree in a financial discipline; Finance, Economics, Math or Statistics, is required.
? Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred.
