RISK AND CONTROL CONSULTANT recruitment
This role has been created to assist in the delivery of the investment mandate monitoring investment control programs of the Company. The role holder will be instrumental in bridging the team’s system manual environments, primarily responsible for the following; creation, maintaining tracking of the Company’s manual controls, effective monitoring of counterparty exposure, credit limits, risk and meeting Client deliverables. In addition, the role holder will assist the team manager and act as a deputy for Committee/Board attendance.
Core Responsibilities:
- The role entails working with “Operations, Strategy Integration” teams Operational Risk in the population of a Manual control tracking solution that is accessible by all.
- Ensuring that monitoring is carried out effectively and breaches are raised and escalated through the appropriate channels.
- The role also contains Stock lending, Client Instruction/mandate changes, production of required MI, Committee and Board attendance, required project work and an element of derivative monitoring.
- Actively pursue the reduction of the Company’s manual controls through.
- Working with the business the Data Management Team to source new/improved data.
- Working closely with the Mandate Adherence team.
- Working with Group Partnership in proposing amendments / clarifications to enable system controls.
- The removal of duplicate effort in the control environment.
- Assist the Company in prioritising resources to migrate manual controls to an appropriate system.
- Carry out effective manual monitoring where necessary and identify opportunities for automation and enhancement business systems.
- Establish, maintain and oversee a robust operational process.
- Log events in a timely manner and escalate where necessary.
- Liaise with Operational Risk and, as required, internal/external auditors.
- Daily exposure monitoring in line with LBG limits (Group Reportable Funds), client mandates and Front Office requirements.
- Oversight of stock lending and recall/restriction management.
- Maintain the Company’s Approved Counterparty List (LAN).
- Production of internal and external MI for monthly and quarterly committee/Board meetings.
- Assisting in project work where required.
- Provide cover for colleagues and Manager.
- General:
- Enhance, develop and maintain a general risk and compliance culture and awareness within the Company.
- Assist in maintaining the team’s Operating model, skills matrix, BCP and procedures.
- Keep management informed (verbal/written), on a timely basis, of issues and matters arising.
- Support management undertake any special projects / tasks as may be required from time to time.
- Ensure that procedural updates are carried out as required and reviewed annually.
- Maintain department files records (both paper electronic) in accordance with approved procedures.
- Aid development of automated resolutions for manual processes.
- Awareness of TCF.
