Risk & Compliance Director
The Role
Reporting directly into the CEO and providing oversight for a team of Anti-Fraud and AML specialists, you will be responsible for –
- Identifying and maintaining oversight of all key operating/regulatory risk and compliance obligations
- Creating, and monitoring operational policies for managing fraud, risk and compliance, and provide guidance on interpretation at board, management, commercial and operational levels
- Taking on the formal responsibility for financial regulatory oversight including formal MLRO responsibilities
- Overseeing the risk and compliance management activities to ensure that they are fulfilled in accordance with company policy and with legislative and regulatory obligations
- Reviewing risk and compliance implications of existing, planned and proposed company initiatives – including products, partnerships, supplier and customer contracts – and provide advice and solutions for mitigating and managing risk for these initiatives
- Liaising and representing the company with regulators, card schemes, industry bodies, suppliers and customers
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have/be –
- Knowledge of the Card Payments system (authorization, clearing and settlement) and an understanding of Card Data security trends and standards
- Able to define, articulate and implement a long term risk strategy
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of payment services legislation, card scheme regulations, data protection, and other relevant regulation
- An understanding of practice around payment fraud, money-laundering, data and identity theft and best practice for managing these risks
- 5+ years in a senior Risk and Compliance role preferably gained within a Cards environment
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- Excellent Influencing Skills across all levels of the organisation
- Ideally experience of people management
