The Role

As a Risk Consultant  you will take responsibility for maintaining and overseeing the risk frameworks for the overall UK Life business and its constituent legal entities, executing activities within a regular programme of risk assurance including insightful strategic, operational, project and capital related risk assessments.

Main duties in the role include;

Working with Group Risk, other assurance providers and UK Life Executive team to develop and apply risk management methodologies robustly. 

Undertaking periodic refreshing of the risk assessments of UK Life’s overall business plan.

Delivering risk assessments for proposed strategic developments to enable a clear articulation and understanding of material risks and their associated mitigation actions.

Preparing regular risk reports, management information and other papers as required by the Head of Enterprise Risk. 
Co-ordinating the Risk Policy adherence and exception management processes.


The Candidate

As the ideal candidate you should have proven operational risk management experience of working in a risk, controls or audit function within a large, complex financial services business. You should have in-depth knowledge of risk management techniques and demonstrable experience in effectively delivering risk assurance programmes along with an appreciation of regulatory developments in respect of risk management relating to the financial services industry.

As a highly motivated individual you must be able to work under your own initiative with an ability to build and maintain relationships at senior level and you should be able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness in respect of the corporate pension, savings and retail investment industry.
