Responsibilities
The Moody's Analytics Risk Management Services Group (MARMS) seeks an exceptional individual to join our team as an Engagement Analyst for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). MARMS is one of the worlds leading consulting partners for financial institutions seeking to more effectively measure, manage and control their exposure to credit risk. We are a boutique consultancy with a unique ability to access a wealth of credit-related research, data and tools to solve complex credit risk challenges for our clients. MARMS services include benchmarking of risk management systems, design and development of risk scoring models, credit process re-engineering, model validation and calibration, regulatory mandate planning, knowledge transfer, custom financial analytics, capital allocation advisory, and financial valuation.
An Engagement Analyst will work on individual consulting projects under the guidance of an Engagement Manager and the Practice Leader.
-Assuming ownership of specific tasks within a project. This will require developing plans and carrying out specific tasks within an overall project.
-Arranging post-project support. This may involve supporting the Engagement Manager in creating proposals for follow-up projects or ensuring proper hand-off of client relationships to other teams within Moody?s Analytics.
-Participating in technical design and knowledge transfer workshops. This will specifically entail leading sessions with clients where the purpose of the session is to define the framework and specifications for a financial model or credit risk solution.
-Coordinating activities with other groups within Moody's Corporation. This will require liaising with other product and service delivery groups such as the Training Services Group, the Implementation Services Group, and the Credit Strategies Group. It will also require interaction with the operations, sales, finance, legal, and strategy teams.
-Developing intellectual capital and participating in research efforts. This will involve identifying topics of interest to risk practitioners, providing ideas and input, harvesting ideas from prior projects, conducting primary and secondary research, writing white papers and presentations, and contributing to the overall Moody's research agenda.
Experience
-Relevant professional experience, including experience at a top-tier consulting firm preferred
-Familiarity with modern credit risk management and the requirements of Basel II, CEBS, and current regulatory developments.
-Track record of successful project management, preferably within a commercial banking or capital markets environment
-Experience writing professional services proposals and supporting business development activities
-Minimum BA or BSc degree; MA, MSc, PhD or MBA a plus
-Strong analytical and quantitative skills
-General understanding of statistics, finance, or empirical modelling techniques
-Knowledge of SAS helpful. Matlab, S-Plus skills a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
-Must be flexible with travel, with the potential for frequent international travel
-Good written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
-Excellent organisational skills
-Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships - at all levels
