Risk Control and Assurance Manager recruitment


A leading Investment Bank has opened up a new and exciting role as a senior Control and Assurance Manager. You will assess the effectiveness of operational risk management in limiting exposures to risk tolerance limits and the Operational Risk Framework, and adequate assessment and control is in place with staff in businesses and functions well prepared for managing risks. You will need solid communication skills, good interpersonal skills and to be an exceptional team player.

Role/Responsibilities

- To assess the effectiveness of operational risk management in limiting exposures to risk tolerance limits and the Operational Risk Framework, and adequate assessment and control is in place with staff in businesses and functions well prepared for managing risks

- Ensure there are good processes and procedures for assessing the effectiveness and compliance of operational risk management

- Develop close working relationships with Operational Risk Management activities in risk Division and business Units

- Ensure Director Operational Risks and CRO are appropriately briefed on major operational risk management issues, such as emerging risks, major exposures and significant control weaknesses.

- To put in place methodologies and processes to monitor the effectiveness of operational risk management throughout the bank.

- To get changes put in place where there are shortcomings

- Escalate issues to CRO where weaknesses which cannot be resolved directly with Operational risk Unit or the business/function directly

- To ensure information flows and briefings on Operational Risk Management is adequate and effective

- Ensure that processes are in place to ensure that actions and decisions are taken in response to assessed exposures and major losses

- Ensure that escalation processes are effective, including to the CRO and the Board

- To get changes put in place where there are shortcomings

- Escalate issues to CRO where weaknesses which cannot be resolved directly with Operational risk Unit or the business/function directly

Skills

- Good experience of operational risk management frameworks in banks.

- Experience in internal audit , control assessment, process effectiveness

- Broad industry knowledge covering all aspects of the banking industry including that ability to foresee the effects of risk events and future economic, political, societal and technological environments.

- Quantitative and process disciplines would be an advantage

- Strong experience in banking, risk management, internal audit
