Role Purpose:
The Risk Control Operations (RCO) team operates as a business support and change function, supporting all aspects of Credit and Market Risk Control’s technology and business process change. RCO is composed of RCO Support Data Management Team, RCO Change Team and RWA Exposure Management Team.
This role will form part of the London Excess Management team within RWA Exposure Management and will focus on analysis of all Excess Management data and reporting to support the transition to a new strategic architecture.
The Excess Management team is primarily responsible for investigating all credit exposure in excess of UBS counterparty risk limits and assert whether excess results from trading activity or not.
The team is responsible for following up with both Credit Risk Officers and Front Office as to course of action to resolve outstanding excesses and provide valuable support to the Credit Officer community by interacting with all other areas touching on exposure calculations when excess arises from technical or netting issues.
The successful candidate will join a global team and will gain significant exposure to all aspects of the Credit Risk Control.
Key responsibilities:
- Build very strong understanding of Excess Management data and business process
- Ad-hoc analysis to support Credit Officer / Senior Management enquiries through metrics, trends, etc…
- Support build up of strategic platform for Excess Management with tactical reporting
Required skills:
- Strong analytical skills and experience manipulated large volume of data in Excel to identify patterns/trends
- Good Counterparty Risk Exposure understanding a must – Experience investigating/analysing Potential Future Exposure (PFE)
- Basic SQL (Select Statement) a valuable plus
- Highly motivated self-starter with a successful track record in managing multiple tasks
- Good understanding of current credit infrastructure and products traded by UBS
- Financial product knowledge including understanding derivatives
- Understanding of Credit Risk Control products and processes
- A degree preferably in a field related to business or finance.
- Experience at a financial institution preferably within a Credit and/or Market control environment.
