Risk Controller [Ref:Risk Controller_WL] recruitment

This role may entail some pressure given the market environment with short response time to FO requests required and from time to time high volume situations, or disputes with front office. Given the multiple assets across the Asia region, ability to work on Hong Kong holidays if needed

Your Role:

Trader request and approval process

• Handle one-off approvals requests from traders

• Review the problems on the latest batch of counterparty risk computations

• Input all one-off approvals provided by RISQ.

• Reconcile transacted deals with one-offs given and ensure that all approvals given are accounted for in RISQ systems.

• For the scope of clients whose limits are not automatically interfaced in risk systems, input of all limits approved for Asia based clients in the systems with minimum turnover time.

• Handle requests from front officers regarding simulations of deals in the tools provided by Risk

• Give trainings on iForce

Limit monitoring and exception management

• Monitor, qualify and analyze daily exceptions that occur in Asia perimeter:

• Track down the sales/trader at the origin of the exception  and seek for necessary explanations to be input in risk’s exception monitoring tool

• Ensure that all exceptions are accounted for and that the front-office provides an accurate and timely response to RISQ’s requests.

Reporting

• Monthly risk reports to monitor total exposures trade caps,

• Ad hoc requests on exposures against counterparts

New products – first deal check

Upon approval of new products in SG, track the first transaction and proper risk handling in counterparty risk systems.

Your Profile:

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong character required to be able to face up to front office

• Thoroughness

• Problem solving

• General knowledge of financial products (payoffs underlying)

• Some SQL knowledge to run basic queries in the counterparty risk system

• Good knowledge of global market’s organization, market activities and products

• Good knowledge of SG booking and risk systems would be a plus
