Operational Risk plays a leadership role providing a forward looking, value adding capability working with the business to achieve a robust risk management culture across the RBS Group. Our policy is to maintain an operational risk management framework that enables the consistent identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of operational risk. 

As Risk Controls Manager, you'll act as a first point of contact for the Business Services HR (BSHR) team on risk management related topics, and provide oversight to ensure the function complies with all relevant operational risk management processes and Group policy requirements. You'll provide support to the Head of Risk, Chief Operating Officer and HR Director in the preparation of risk reporting, including reporting requirements to the functional and divisional risk management committees. You'll also be responsible for undertaking key controls testing across the function, and working with the HR teams to report results and develop action plans, ensuring this forms part of the overall control environment certification.

Naturally, as Risk Controls Manager, you'll have excellent knowledge and experience of operational risk management processes (e.g. risk assessments and issues management) and systems (e.g. ORBIT). Additionally, you'll have an understanding of the role of the HR function, and experience of designing and implementing key controls testing programmes. You'll also have knowledge of the policies and the roles and responsibilities of divisional policy standard owners.
