Risk Data Analyst recruitment

The role is to be part of the change and reporting team within global Risk Operations. Risk Operations is spread across several locations, London, Zurich, Stamford and APAC with the Global Head being based in the Stamford office. This role is based in London, UK.
The change and reporting team respond to and analyse requirements for information and reporting from across our wider risk team and aims to introduce efficient, sustainable, consistent and accurate processes, reporting and information to support the key goals of Risk Operations and Operations globally.

The role will be focussed on two key areas;
• Process automation and streamlining
• Reporting development and delivery

Risk Operations are the owners of a global Operations risk data repository (Mercury) and have access to many of the Bank’s other risk tools and data sources (ORA suite etc…)
This role will focus initially on the improvement of the risk management interfaces to these information sources for IB Operations, i.e. the enhancement of the basis risk data quality in these tools and the improvement of the related business and technical process flows for risk reporting of their data.

Mercury is an MS SQL Server based repository with MS Access, MS Excel and Business Objects data interfaces. The ORA suite is a set of online reporting and data management tools with some Business Objects reporting interfaces.

This position requires experience of working with large scale data sources through both technical (direct) access and user interfaces including business and technical process design around the interfaces for the application of the following:
• Analysis and improvement of risk data and static hierarchies
• Analysis and improvement of risk reporting business and technical process flows
• Tracking, monitoring and status reporting regarding risk basis data, data integrity issues and process flows

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong data background and solid understanding of risk, preferably in an Operations environment. They should demonstrate an excellent ability to analyse large volumes of information and a thorough knowledge of the technical environment within the Microsoft Office suite.

The candidate should also have the ability to:
Be organised and well structured in their approach to work
Work to strict, often tight, deadlines
Communicate in clear, concise and accurate terms
Produce high quality documentation
Provide training, handover and management support to offshore teams
Work effectively within global cross functional and with offshore teams
Build a strong network within Risk Operations globally, the Operational Risk Control function and Operations
Drive the strategic positioning of Risk Operation’s risk management proposition

Requirements
Degree in a data or risk related discipline is preferred
Advanced skills in database modelling and SQL querying
Advanced skills in MS Office macro or VBA programming
Advanced skills in business and technical process flows design and improvement methodologies (Six Sigma)
Previous work experience in an investment bank
Project management exposure
Being resourceful to solve problems and suggest alternative solutions is highly regarded
Eager to take on challenges, get stuck in and take pride responsibility in their work
Strong Inter-personal skills.
Is self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
Demonstrate strong problem solving abilities
Focus on meticulous attention to detail
