Risk Data Specialist recruitment

Our Prudential Business Unit has a wide-ranging remit, and through a number of teams we take responsibility for a range of areas to support the development of the PRA’s target operating model. We now seek a Risk Data Specialist to join our Risk Specialists Division (RSD) which is developing and implementing tools and capabilities to support the new PRA supervisory approach.

This particular role is involved with the ongoing industrialisation and improvement of credit stress testing capabilities. The improvements require a variety of data to be sourced and validated so that a set of class and data models can be created. As a Risk Data Specialist, you will use ETL tools to validate and import risk data into an operational database, escalating issues where required.

Your role means working closely with UK banks as well as internal risk analysts, developers, data modellers and business analysts. You will liaise with banks on their submissions of risk data for PRA stress testing purposes and work with firms to identify key internal reconciliation points which are required to ensure data quality standards are upheld.

To succeed, you will need to quickly grasp the PRA’s overall data quality goals. It’s also important that you understand financial services from a risk perspective; banking and trading books; economic data; RDBMS and its core concepts; and firms’ liquidity, cash flow and PL. Some basic knowledge of data modelling will be required too, together with experience of Oracle RDBMS, ETL and BI tools, and maintaining data quality standards.

Resilient and good with people, you’ll have practical experience in the Financial Services sector and the ability to influence stakeholders.
