Risk Equity Derivative Analyst recruitment

One of the worlds leading investment banks has opened up an exciting opportunity within their Equity Derivative department as a Risk Equity Derivative Analyst. The role involves reviewing complex; structured derivative trades using path dependent algorithm calculations and validating control over trade data captured in the Risk Management system and supporting Trade Documentation.You will need strong analytical skills, and possess solid communication skills, good interpersonal skills and be an exceptional team player.

Role/Responsibilities

- The role is within the Equity Derivative team responsible for ensuring the integrity of Trading Books through trade reviews.

- The role involves reviewing complex, structured derivative trades using path dependent algorithm calculations. Other key functions include contingent event monitoring and pay-off calculations.

- Deal Review process, acting as a validating control over trade data captured in the Risk Management system and supporting Trade Documentation.

- The role is positioned within a challenging work environment and requires someone who is responsive and possesses above average communication skills.

- The team supports a diverse product range, including vanilla and exotic OTC products, cash, listed securities, warrants and swaps.

- You will be expected to be very adept at picking up new processes and procedures.

- You will have a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel with VBA skills deemed advantageous. Experience of Structured Products is essential (ideally in with exposure to Equity Derivatives and Funds); a good understanding of PL and Risk is also desirable.

Skills

- Degree Level Education - Ideally Business, Mathematics, Finance or equivalent

- Experience in Product Control, Project Management and/or line experience in the Investment Banking industry.

- Understanding of Risk management

- Knowledge of Investment Bank front to back environment.

- Ability to identify control gaps with a control minded approach to develop solutions.

- Ability to co-ordinate and consolidate information from multiple sources.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

- Organised mindset with strong planning and analytical skills.

- Strong Excel skills. VBA would be desirable although not essential

- Good system skills and ability to work with IT partners essential.
