The Team
Provides advice and support to the IBM businesses in implementing and embedding the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
Businesses across IBM supported by the Operational Risk team include Markets (Global Rates, Global Commodities, Global Foreign Exchange, Global Fixed Income) and Institutional Equities.
The Role
To assist relevant business units within Markets and Institutional Equities in consistent and fit for purpose Operational Risk management practices by coordinating the ongoing implementation of the ORMF.
You will be expected to work within IBM Operational Risk's Vision of "Partnering with our business to drive optimal decisions by delivering pragmatic and insightful operational risk advice",
Main Duties
- Co-ordinate, coach and assist the business in all aspects of the Operational Risk Management Framework, including incident analysis, issues, risk profiling and scenario analysis;
- Conduct "deep dives" into areas of potential concern - identified through loss incidents, trends or at the request of business or management. This involves planning, scoping and performing detailed reviews on business strategy, projects, transactions and business processes;
- Be a trusted advisor on Operational Risk matters including optimal risk versus reward treatment to key internal stakeholders. Provide insightful recommendations on key risks and control issues within material projects, new products or process changes.
- Advise and challenge the business in the development and monitoring of its Risk and Control Self-Assessment;
- Perform targeted Line 2 controls assurance. This includes preparing scope, reporting results and recommendations;
Experience Required
- Extensive operational risk knowledge and experience, preferably in the banking and finance sector.
- Strong knowledge of Global Markets products.
- Demonstrated personal and interpersonal effectiveness, and a strong team player.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and sound business acumen.
- Ability to understand and communicate concepts accurately and concisely.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications ideally relevant professional certifications (or studying towards it).
