Risk Management – Commodities – Associate – Engagement Manager Level – UK or Germany recruitment

As a successful candidate you will develop and implement practical tools and sustainable processes that enable more informed strategic decisions, improved risk mitigation, and increased transparency. Projects range from comprehensive risk assessments, which are designed to identify risk exposures and risk drivers across the organization to linking risk-adjusted performance metrics with key strategic decision making processes.

Candidates are likely to have experience in the areas of strategy development, Financial Risk Management (treasury / commodities), Performance improvement or Risk Framework development.

Responsibilities include oversight of client engagement – project planning, communications, and project management, the design and application of sophisticated risk management models and methods to allow firms to make more informed strategic decisions and the definition of trends, conclusions and recommendations based on sophisticated economic analyses. You will need to act as primary point of contact for client staff and collaborate with Directors in production and delivery of major presentations, proposals and reports. Due to the structure of client engagements, consulting teams are expected to travel frequently and conduct the majority of their work at the client site.

The ideal candidate will possess:

 • Multiple years’ professional experience in risk management and strategy experience, either as a consultant within a strategy or risk management consultancy, or as a risk management practitioner in a leading corporation

• Variety of the following skills, with particular expertise in at least one area: corporate strategy development, the use of risk management techniques in strategic decision making, treasury or commodity risk management, risk identification, risk quantification and/or quantitative modelling, risk framework development and implementation

• Experience leading and managing teams under pressure and strict deadlines

• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management (internally externally)

• Sound business insights and outstanding leadership

• Distinctive records of post-graduate academic achievement, ideally with one of the following:

oMBA with an undergraduate focus in a heavily quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)

oPh.D. degree in Finance/Business ideally focused on risk, Economics, Physics, Statistics/Mathematics

oMasters degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, or Applied Mathematics

• Willingness to travel
