Position Summary
Extended GRLT members include the Head of Information Technology Business Continuity Risk, who is based in Singapore. He or She is responsible for managing the designated risks on a global basis.
The primarily focus of the position is for managing the Business Continuity Risk of locations as defined by the immediate supervisor. In its secondary role, the position requires additional focus on matters of IT and operational risks for the Singapore location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains the crisis management program for the IIM International’s Asian locations, establishes crisis management organization, business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans, staff evacuation plans to ensure staff safety and business continuity in the event of disruptions or disasters.
- Ensure that the Crisis Management program complies with Group minimum standards, regulatory requirements and relevant industry best practices.
- Identifies, assesses and monitors current and future risk of disruptive events and work with business unit and the Operations Technology stakeholders (OT) to create relevant plans to mitigate these risks.
- Works actively and hands on with all stakeholders to execute the business impact assessment (BIA) to assess threats, their risks, determine appropriate risk mitigation strategies and ensure that the plan documents are appropriate to respond to the threats.
- Support and facilitate planning activity while simultaneously challenging stakeholders on the effectiveness and adequacy of plans.
- Develop and facilitate training, awareness and education programs.
- Responsible for follow up with stakeholders to ensure plans are updated/maintained on a semi-annual basis.
- Develop, monitor and facilitate improvement of KPIs and KRIs for the crisis management risk area.
- Work with project and technical teams to ensure continuity requirements are identified and addressed.
- Identify, monitor and mitigate non financial risk, i.e., risks with the people, processes and systems as per the IIM International Risk Management framework and as arising at the IIM locations of Singapore.
- Constructively and objectively engage the internal clients, mainly in a) the Operations Technology, b) the Sales, Marketing Products group and c) the Investment Engine on an ongoing basis. It also requires smooth running of the Singapore Operational Risk Committee.
Qualifications Experience
Education Required:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in a business continuity management or related role in the financial services industry. Should have proven experience in end to end life cycle management of the continuity risk management program. Since the person in this role is expected to be effective from day one a minimum of 2-3 years hands on BCM work is a must. This can be in the capacity of an analyst/consultant also.
- Relevant BCP certifications (ABCP, CBCP, etc)
- Strong understanding of threats/risks (physical, personal, continuity, IT) to businesses and personnel
- Understanding and ability to analyze business processes.
- The ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders to organize plan development and testing activities.
- Ability to work hands on to ensure an effective program is in place
- Good understanding of recovery and resiliency strategies, technologies.
- Demonstrate relevant IT understanding
- Experience in standardizing, developing and reviewing planning and procedural documents.
- Ability to engage with staff at all levels and build good relationships with functional areas and senior management
Language Skills Required:
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
- Fluency in written and spoken another Asian languages is a plus
