Risk Manager

Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC) is the trustee of nine superannuation schemes set up solely to meet the superannuation needs of Australian Government employees and members of the Australian Defence Forces.  CSC is responsible for the investment and management of more than AUD27billion, and the superannuation of over 700,000 members and pensioners. CSC has offices in Canberra and Sydney.

This is a newly created role following the establishment of the Risk function as a separate unit based in Sydney.  Some travel to Canberra will be required.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the GM, Finance and Risk , you will be an integral part of the management of CSC’s risk management obligations and provision of advice to senior management so that CSC continues to meet and exceed its obligations.Key functions will include: risk management strategy implementation and review, fraud control plan execution, staff training, regular risk management reporting to the executive and the continuing development of the organisation’s risk expertise.

This is a senior role requiring extensive experience in Risk Management. You should be degree qualified with at least 5 years risk management experience preferably gained in an APRA-controlled environment. Whilst there is a definite preference for experience gained in a superannuation fund, candidates may come from wealth management including life insurance, or you may be currently providing risk services /advice working in an accounting, legal or specialist consulting firm.
