Risk Manager – Investment Research. recruitment

Reporting to the Risk Practice Leader you will generally be responsible for building and maintaining a clear understanding of the risks embedded in the adapted investment strategy, and as required challenge fund managers on their investment decisions.

This is not an investment advisory role but instead is more focussed on ensuring the investment strategy that is set to match the pension liabilities follows a comprehensive risk management framework.

The role would be based a fifteen minute train journey from either London Bridge or Victoria.

Below are the qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge that are required starting with essentials:

2:1 degree or above in financial/quantitative discipline.

Relevant experience of Asset-Liability Management or Investment Management with exposure to LDI.

Investment risk qualification (CFA/FRM/etc) and experience.

Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.

Personal credibility and authority.

Managing, coaching and development of others.

Comprehensive understanding of portfolio management and ALM.

Detailed investment product knowledge and a good understanding of a range of derivatives.

The desirable skills, knowledge and attributes are:

Previous exposure to investment/risk management at a major financial institution.

Experience of managing staff.

Advanced IT skills

A sound understanding of the nature of pension liabilities and some DB focused pensions knowledge.

Knowledge of exotic asset classes and derivatives.
