Risk Manager (m/f) (newly created position) Job in Luxembourg
Your responsibilities:
- Facilitate the risk committee’s activities (this will require the position holder to be a member of the risk committee)
- Prepare the monthly risk dashboard assessing the ongoing validity of key risk indicators and incidents reports verifying the integrity of the underlying data
- Prepare the monthly risk dashboard monitoring the implementation of actions arising from risk assessments, risk ‘deep dive’ reviews and internal audit reviews
- Regularly review each risk register and challenge assumptions, conclusions and recommendations ensuring consistency of the risk thought process across the business
- Work closely with senior management across all business areas and support functions so as to play a proactive role in implementing and embedding effective and efficient tools, techniques and processes to enable the identification, assessment, control, monitoring and reporting of risks
- Continually monitor the effectiveness of the risk management processes and internal controls and advise on continuous improvement programs
- Assist in the identification of significant weaknesses in the controls framework and draft recommendations as to how such weaknesses could be addressed in an economically efficient manner
- Coordinate Group Internal Audit visits and to monitor and report upon the timely implementation of agreed actions
- Facilitate open communication with other members of the Fiduciary Group risk team and audit and compliance functions
- Delivery against an annual risk and internal controls plan having due regard to other assurance plans (e.g. compliance monitoring, internal audit)
- Undertake such projects (e.g. investigations) as are assigned by the Managing Director and the Head of Risk
Your profile:
- Relevant professional qualification in the Legal, Internal Audit or Accounting field
- At least 4 to 6 years of relevant working experience in a similar Risk or Internal Audit position in the fiduciary and company administration environment
- Excellent knowledge of the interpretation and practical application of relevant financial services legislation in Luxembourg
- Fluency in English is absolutely a must – any other European languages will be considered as an advantage
- Ability to deal with client and professional advisors, thereby showing a commitment to providing a quality service
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work on own initiative and to be highly disciplined
