Risk Principal (Investment Performance and Risk) recruitment

The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) is a public body created to provide, for the first time, a real level of security in retirement for millions of UK pension scheme members.

We have an opportunity for a pro-active individual to oversee and monitor investment performance and risk measurement at PPF. The preparation of robust supporting narratives for these metrics will be part of your role, as will the identification and flagging up of metrics that indicate actual or prospective deviations from the risk policy framework. Whilst ensuring compliance with the risk framework, you will also identify and raise emerging risk issues for which no policy has yet been developed

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a financial/quantitative discipline, and also have an investment risk qualification (e.g. CFA/FRM/PRM). Extensive experience of performance and risk measurement systems is essential, as is experience in asset-liability management or investment management, with exposure to liability driven investment.

An effective organiser with advanced IT skills, you will be confident leading others and have sound knowledge of methodology for performance and risk management and an understanding of performance and risk budgeting, especially for fixed income portfolios.
