Risk Principal (Investment Research) recruitment

The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) is a public body created to provide, for the first time, a real level of security in retirement for millions of UK pension scheme members.

Your role will include building and maintaining a clear understanding of the risks embedded in the adopted investment strategy and tactics. You will develop and maintain an investment risk library that facilitates the management and identification of the biggest investment risks to the PPF and carry out due diligence on complex investments. You will also review and, as required, challenge material investment decisions.

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in a financial/quantitative discipline, and also have an investment risk qualification (e.g. CFA/FRM/PRM). A comprehensive understanding of portfolio management and asset liability management, including the management of collateral, is also essential, along with a good understanding of a range of derivatives, their uses and their economic and operational impact. An effective decision-maker and communicator, you will be highly diligent with the capacity to lead very detailed analyses.
