Team Description

This role will be part of the EMEA Risk Reporting and Analytics team within the EMEA Risk Architecture function. The team of 4 will be responsible for managing the production of risk reporting and analytical data for the EMEA region covering Advanced operational risk modelling and related scenario development process, research and analysis from risk systems to support stress testing preparation. The team will interface with internal staff, as well as BNYM Risk management in EMEA and at a global level.

This role will report into the Risk Reporting Manager, based in Canary Wharf, London.

Role Description

The Risk Reporting Analyst is expected to work collaboratively with other team members to achieve the highest level of risk reporting quality through input to the design and being responsible for the production of regional level consolidated risk, capital forecasting and stress testing information. The incumbent will produce ad-hoc, monthly and quarterly enterprise risk reports required by the EMEA Region and its executive committees, as well as being responsible for collation of capital reports for members of the team.

The incumbent will be responsible for collation of risk, capital and stress testing data, analysing, and reporting these activities in the EMEA region in order to minimize risk liabilities for the company.

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining statistical models, data analysis, monitoring their input parameters, outputs and preparing risk and capital reports. The incumbent must also ensure outputs are documented, validated and reviewed internally prior to presentation to relevant committees and Boards. Also working within a team to support statistical data analysis to support operational risk AMA scenario metrics, and therefore must have a high degree of analytical and research ability. Outputs will be produce both on a routine monthly and quarterly basis as well as ad-hoc to input to decision making processes. Therefore the incumbent must be a highly competent data analyst with the ability to produce high quality understandable outputs.

Qualifications

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, collaborative, a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal abilities and will have spent at least 3 years in the financial industry working in a risk analysis and reporting role. He or she should be self-motivated and organized and have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, database and risk platforms. Additionally, it would be preferable if this person has an understanding of databases and a working knowledge of SQL and Excel VBA.

The incumbent must be highly self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and able to manage high volumes of workloads and priorities effectively during peak times to the standards and within the boundaries of the EMEA Stress testing Framework. The incumbent will also have the opportunity to participate to the ongoing development of the framework.

An awareness of current regulations in relation to managing advanced measurement approaches for operational risk, as well as risk management guidelines across the EU would be an advantage. It would also be advantageous to also have a good working knowledge of risk information aggregation, systems and reporting techniques as well as risk appetite and risk monitoring approaches.

The incumbent, as part of the wider team will be required to undertake analysis of regulations and build remediation plans for recommendations and implementation in-region and it is vital the role holder is able to understand and comply with these as well as input to and work within internal guidelines.

Degree level and / or relevant practical experience in one of the following: MIS, Risk, Statistics, Information Quality. Preferred education - B.A or B.S. Minimum experience 3-5 Years
