Responsibilities:
The Risk Team Leader - East is responsible for day-to-day Risk Control activities surrounding the Singapore and Dubai trading portfolios within the Shell Trading Network (STN). Risk Control responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all trading activities remain within mandated exposure and risk limits
- Establishing fair market values for all exposure within the Eastern Trading portfolio and producing daily profit loss (PL) numbers for all levels of the business
- Providing a daily commentary to trading leads analyzing PL performance and risk levels held at all trading levels
- Ensure all local price reporting activities to external agencies are carried out in compliance with stated policy in line with regulation
- Executing on daily basis an accurate valuation and exposure measurement for all trading activities, including Value at Risk, to management to ensure the East trading activity remains within mandated limits and does not run any excessive unmanaged risks
- Implementing and maintaining appropriate controls within Singapore/Dubai Risk Control to ensure successful Sarbanes-Oxley attestation for their activities in Shell Trading
- Ensuring that exposure valuation is in line with accounting standards
- Ensuring that in a highly specialized / technical activity, due attention is paid to training and development of local risk personnel to guarantee that the activity remains sustainable
- To ensure that the Global Risk model is executed properly at the local trading level. This model provides a control framework within which the Trading activity can operate effectively within mandate to generate income whilst also providing Shell Trading management with the assurance that all trading positions are being properly recognized and valued
- Ensure that all transactions are properly captured and valued in accordance with financial and management accounting requirements
- Ensure that all exposures generated are fully understood and that these exposures and resultant PL are properly evaluated, validated and analyzed prior to any income being reported
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or any other specialization
- At least 10 years of working experience within Risk Control and or Trading within an Oil Trading environment
- Prior experience in leading and managing a team
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Experience in working with senior stakeholders in the business, both locally and globally
