Risk Valuations – Subject Matter Expert recruitment


A Top Tier investment bank has opened up an exciting role within their Global Market Management department. The role focuses on the reporting of issues and risks that relate to valuation uncertainty. You will need great communication skills, a strong intellect, and good project management focused on identifying and implementing practical solutions in the context of the bank's wider objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Present an overall view of the valuation risks stemming from our population

- With the help of the directors, prioritize material issues, document them, articulate a resolution plan, and track progress

- Constantly enhance the risk valuation assessment framework by proposing / gathering new ideas

- Act as the main point of contact for all queries

- Liaise with other departments to leverage their understanding of the movements

- Manage the quarterly data collection process

- Produce required suite of reports within deadlines

- Manage one IT resource (Offshored IT resource dedicated to this project)

- Provide support to Risk Partners in providing trade level breakdown and analysis of key items and movements

- Use innovative reporting techniques to focus on new specific problems and actions

- Provide weekly updated metrics on progress and open issues

Skills Required

- A degree, preferably in a mathematical discipline or equivalent

- Good understanding of investment banking products and the asset side of a bank balance-sheet

- Experience of risk valuation control or product control (IPV testing, reserving methodologies, IAS39, IFRS7, Balance Sheet analysis)

- Previous experience of working within Financial Services

- Strong understanding of credit financial products

- Capacity to articulate complex issues at the appropriate level of details for a particular audience

- Familiarity with Database designs (Ideally SQL / ORACLE knowledge)

- Change / Project Management Skills
