To serve the needs of the health plan members and the other patients of the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Program. Under supervision is responsible for assessing, planning, directing, providing and evaluating nursing care for patients and coordinating nursing care activities with other health care disciplines. Essential Functions: - Performs accurate multi-system assessments, including; biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs and discharge planning needs. - Develops patient teaching plan and documents on care plan or teaching plan. - Appropriately delegates patient care activities based on patient's condition and scope of practice of other health care providers. - Able to assess and care for the critical care patient following ASPAN guidelines - Demonstrates ability to manage an airway - Knowledgeable in anesthesia agents and adjuncts - able to assess and care for adult patients that are post general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, epidural patients and MAC patients - Knowledgeable in caring for pediatric post-anesthesia patient and their families - Competent in pain management and nausea/vomiting control - Competent in thermoregulation; familiar with Malignant Hyperthermia protocol - Able to identify and document cardiac rhythm changes and report to physician as appropriate - Able to assess patients for post-op complications, intervene appropriately and notify physician Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - 2-5 years critical care experience - Current RN License upon hire - Current BLS w/AED certification - Current ACLS certification - Current PALS certification, or required within 6 months of hire Preferred Qualifications: - 2-5 years PACU experience Salary Range $32.45 - $46.67
