RN – Medical / Telemetry (Part Time

POSITION SUMMARY:
 
The Registered Nurse in the Acute Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
Education/ including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:
Current licensure California RN; Must have current American Heart Association BLS -Health Care Provider recognition or Greater Sac Region - Healthcare CPR. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred. ACLS Recognition (current or to be obtained with in first six (6) months of employment).
 
Knowledge:
Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills.
 
Experience:
One (1) year or critical care experience or successful completion of Community Critical Care Course within one (1) year of employment.  One (1) year of Telemetry nursing experience.  Or, successful completion of the Community Care Course EKG Monitoring Component within six (6) months of employment.
 
Skills:
In depth knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical and psychosocial, psychological needs of patients.  Aware of adult learning principles in providing teaching of patients and families.  Good Interpersonl and communication skills, oral and written. Completion of hospital phlebotomy training within 6 months of employment.
