RN-MRMC POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT
Position Description JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Unit Manager, or Director, the PACU Nurse is responsible for the recovery nursing care of the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric surgical patient. The Recovery Nurse delivers care through the use of the nursing process in a manner that is cost effective without compromising quality of care. Expected practice behaviors include assessment, planning, implementation of recovery interventions, and evaluation. Call and Holiday coverage is assigned on a rotating basis. Education: Graduation form an accredited school of nursing with a MSN, BSN, AD, or Diploma plus a minimum of two years Med-Surg nursing experience and one year previous PACU or ICU experience is desirable. Experience: Nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills) as applied to the care of the appropriate patient population. Principles of growth and development for the entire life-span with the ability to provide care appropriate License/Certification: Current license as registered professional nurse in Colorado, CPAN highly desirable, BLS certification required within 90 day orientation period, current ACLS and PALS preferred. Other required skills and abilities: Current license as registered professional nurse in Colorado, CPAN highly desirable, current ACLS and PALS desired Physical Abilities: This is not a new grad position.
