The American Red Cross in Farmington, CT is seeking a FULL TIME RN Team Supervisor for our new Norwich, CT Team.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Ensure that blood collection services operations, systems are in accordance with FDA, NHQ and departmental policy. Work with counterparts in donor recruitment to achieve blood collection objectives. Responsible for proactive behaviors to facilitate goal attainment, hiring, performance management, union contract adherence, discipline, and staff recognition. Manage and supervise the blood collection activities and staff as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING REQUIRED TO DO THE WORK:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in nursing, healthcare, or business related field or equivalent related work experience. Previous supervisory experience Strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to deal with stressful situations. Problem solving for technical and personnel issues. Knowledge of whole blood collection and process. Comprehensive knowledge of workflow and organization. Ability to guide, motivate, and supervise staff.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to comply with the demands of irregular hours, flexible assignment of hours and work locations. Valid CT drivers license with good driving record.
