JOB SUMMARY:
Job Title: Trainer/Educator
Department: Medical Management
Reports To: Manager, Utilization Management
Position Summary:
The RN Trainer/Educator oversees and implements the successful training of newly hired Case Managers and Utilization Management Care Managers, as well as provides retraining/education for current Case/Care Managers as needed. This includes planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating training/educational programs, in addition to creating, developing and maintaining a training manual in order to maintain a consistent level of competency throughout Healthfirst’s Medical Management Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for needs analysis, strategic planning and hands-on training for newly hired Case/Care Managers.
- Responsible for developing, reviewing and constantly updating departmental training manual, policies/procedures, related job aides and clinical pathways.
- Provides ongoing support and reeducation, as well as ad-hoc training to existing staff.
- Provides hands-on and virtual assistance to new hires in processing case management events.
- Coordinates remote training following on-site orientation utilizing web-based video and teleconferencing technologies.
- Prepares for and conducts staff meetings as needed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists managers with audits for general staff.
- Assists in processing overflow events/cases when necessary.
- Assists management staff with creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum of Associate’s degree required
- RN/MSW appropriately licensed registered or certified health care professional pursuant to title eight of the education law or a health care professional comparably licensed, registered or certified by another state
Work Experience:
All candidates must have at least 3-5 years of training experience. Candidates must have a RN or LPN license.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Assign or allocate work to others; may lead a small group.
- Number of Employees Supervised: 6 - 10
- Supervision/Management Experience Required: 1-3 years
Technical Skills:
Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio Interqual
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, key and stand; occasionally required to crawl, reach, bend, lift overhead. frequently required to lift 1-10 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee constantly works in an indoor environment.
Conditions of Employment:
Employee must pass pre-employment screening which includes a background check and drug testing. Employee must present documentation to verify minimum of high school educational requirement.

Requirements:
We are looking for a candidate who is a RN or LPN with extensive clinical education knowledge in Medicaid, Medicare and Case Management. This candidate will be training our new hires for Case Management and all aspects of non-clinical within Medical Management.
