Job Description RNS BMT Coordinator CBCI FT Days(PSL)-26068-29047 Primary Location: United States-Colorado-Denver Job: Nursing - Professional Schedule: Full-time Description I. Position Summary: Responsible for the planning, coordination and admission of all bone marrow transplant patients requiring an Allogeneic or Unrelated Donor Transplant. Establish and maintain collaborative practice and working relationships with all healthcare team members and serve as a liaison for patients, families, physicians, and nurses throughout the transplant process. Works closely with the Insurance Verifier and Social Worker to anticipate any financial difficulties for the patients while undergoing the transplant process. Works collaboratively with the NMDP, HLA laboratory at the Labs at Bonfils and the Medical Director of URD Program during the search for an unrelated donor. Integrates the function of the NMDP with the Rocky Mountain Blood and Marrow Transplant Program to ensure quality transplantation and donor selection resulting in optimal outcomes for patients. Responsible for a rapid, efficient search of the NMDP registry, assisting the Medical Director of the URD program with the selection of the most appropriate unrelated donor available for the clinical situation. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; BLS - Healthcare provider. B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred but not required. C. Experience: Minimum of three years experience as an RN in a bone marrow/stem cell transplant program. D. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.
