Area Manager – Rolling Operations
My client is expanding their Rolling operations and seeking a high-energy, results driven leader. The incumbent will be responsible for the effective operations and maintenance of the Rolling department including driving production, quality, safety, environmental and engineering activities to maximize profit and achieve performance goals. Job responsibilities include directing and managing the hourly and salaried workforce including hiring, training, coaching for performance, administering the basic labor agreement and maintaining positive employee relations; directing product and process functions and ensuring quality manufacturing of product to customer specifications; facilitating planning and scheduling processes for production; directing problem solving sessions and finding solutions to daily operations / quality issues; assuring the safety of the department; enforcing, implementing and auditing policies and procedures; developing and managing departmental budgets and monitoring performance; identifying capital needs / projects; reviewing customer inquiries and meeting with customers as required; managing quality systems and working closely with metallurgist to address CPARs; and identifying and overseeing continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelors degree(or work years experience), demonstrated experience with Rolling Bar products technology and processes; demonstrated managerial skills including the ability to budget, plan and control departmental costs; demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of personnel; demonstrated decision making skills; strong computer skills; and knowledge of OSHA, EPA, TS16949 and QS regulations / requirements.
