Summary of Responsibilities
Deliver gases and welding supplies to new and established customers along assigned routes within a district. Position reports to Distribution Manager, Store manager or Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
* Perform all related duties to deliver gases and supplies reliably and on a timely basis to established customers along an established route. Take additional orders at customer locations as needed. Nurture and maintain good customer service to promote our company image. Communicate with other district personnel to assure excellence in customer service and inform management and other sales personnel of sales leads. Assist in the collection of past due accounts as may be needed. Pick up and return empty cylinders as necessary.
* Assure that the route truck is properly and safely loaded with previously ordered gas cylinders and hardgood merchandise to be delivered along the route. Personally load cylinders and hardgood merchandise safely and securely on the truck. Personally offload sold merchandise and cylinders at customer locations. Maintain proper inventory control custody of all stock on the truck throughout the day. Accurately prepare company required documents, and record all sales and delivery information.
* Assure that the route truck remains in proper and safe working order and that routine and required maintenance occurs on a timely basis. Comply with all Federal, State and local laws relating to both safe driving and the safe and proper handling of hazardous materials. Maintain current qualifications of licensing requirements.
* Assist other district personnel in regular and scheduled district activities, such as physical inventories, as needed or assigned.

General Working Conditions * Somewhat undesirable conditions; exposed to outside weather conditions, dust and noise.

Contact With Others

Daily contact with customers on established routes requiring tact and diplomacy. Improper handling will have adverse effect on sound customer relations and could result in the loss of business.

Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements

Required Licenses and Certifications
Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B or higher, meet and maintain driver's qualification under DOT regulations. Must have HAZ-MAT endorsements.

Experience
Minimum 1 year driving experience within the last 4 years.

Education
Requires ability to read, write, perform basic math functions, check material against load tickets, and ability to read and interpret area map. Must be able to deal effectively with customers, maintain a positive corporate image while delivering products. Equivalent to High School education.

Special Physical Requirements
Must pass DOT physical and maintain DOT physical qualifications. Must be able to dead lift up to 50lbs. Using a hand truck or by rolling, must be able to regularly move 100lb cylinders off and on to truck. Occasionally, must move containers weighing over 200lbs.
