Orkin Pest Control is growing in the Pittsfield market and we are currently looking for individuals for our Route Service position. This is an entry level position that could develop into something much more. Prior pest control experience is a plus; however, Orkin packs 100 years of experience into the best training program in the industry. This position is ideal for the candidate that is looking for a long term relationship with a rock-solid company providing a valuable service to customers.
Route Service Professional
Are you a "people person" dedicated to providing the finest quality service and value to your customers? If so, this is an opportunity you don’t want to miss! As a Route Service Professional, you will have a designated residential service territory where you will be responsible for providing the best service for your customer's most valuable investment, their homes. This position pays a competitive base salary plus commissions. Must be able to pass a drug screen, physical, and motor vehicle screen

Required Skills:
*1. Drive assigned company vehicle to customer location.
*2. Prepare service kit. Mix necessary chemicals according to label instructions. Return equipment and chemicals to the proper storage area of the vehicle.
*3. Meet customer. Answer any questions concerning Service Agreement. Get service agreement signed and appropriate paperwork signed. Review "Scope of Service" and "Points of Service" with customer. Handle basic questions and objectives that might occur when performing the initial service. Explain the steps and procedures to be taken in providing the specified service. Inspect critical areas of the customer''s premises (kitchen, bathroom, storage area, etc.). Move furniture and other customer property which may interfere with thorough inspection. Observe and identify any insect or pest problems. Based on the pest problems identified, apply the appropriate insecticide according to the label directions. Inspect the remaining areas of the building including the basement, attic, crawlspace, etc. Apply appropriate insecticide as needed. Inspect the exterior for the building. Provide the Perimeter Defense System service as required. Return furniture and other customer property t the original location when finished.
After the service has been provided, complete the necessary paperwork, including service ticket, new Sales Agreement, etc. After the service is performed, call the Orkin office and have the customer talk t other service scheduler so the "Welcome to Orkin Call" can be made and confirm that payment is due when service is rendered. Advise customer of the services provided and obtain customer signature as required. Achieve assigned service performance objectives.
.*4. Contact customers to schedule service appointments and respond to any problems.
Required Experience:
This position is classified as heavy work in as much as it requires exertion of up to 60 pounds of force. Must be capable of wearing a respirator.
