Job Location: Frating, Essex

I am currently recruiting for a Royalty Advisor to join the Royalty Department within Group Accounts at a publishing company in Frating, Essex. The purpose of this role is to assist in all aspects of the preparation of royalty accounts to ensure that royalty statements and payments are accurate and delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and to provide information to the various publishing divisions.

The key responsibilities of the Royalty Advisor role will include:

- Check all new head contract information input by the Contracts Dept and assign sub-accounts
- Amend any royalty rates on contracts pre-2006 where they have been set up incorrectly
- Amend opening balances where contracts have had a change of contracted party
- Flag any advances due for payment
- Regularly chase editors for delivery advance payment notifications·
- Produce quarterly manual statements for Licensing companies·
- Review royalty exception reports and work with other departments to clear.
- Hold regular meetings to review and clear queries.
- Check the royalty statements for key authors
- Check that retentions have not been calculation on sales processed pre-publication - Deal with external queries from Authors and Agents
- Calculate and post manual ledger adjustments
- Produce analysis for internal queries including updates on unearned balances
- Record queries on query management system

To be considered for this role you must have experience of working in an accounts or financial environment, strong capabilities in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, excellent numerical skills and evidence of problem solving. Experience in royalty processing is highly desirable.
