Ruby on Rails Web Developer (Growing leading company)
We need someone to build a software web application from the ground up and ensure it is user friendly for management to use. The application will be used to analyst quality assurance information, so quality assurance methodology knowledge will be necessary.
Software operations group seeking an experienced web developer to design and implement internal web tools for SQA and Testing Results. Specific responsibilities include: working with the client teams and soliciting management guidance on requirements and design; ground-up implementation of site; integration of Rails front end with external systems. Candidate must be experienced with Ruby on Rails development, and able to work efficiently independently as well as within a small group. Experience with creating, using, and optimizing SQL databases is expected; in-depth knowledge SQA/Testing methodology and other scripting languages is a strong plus.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
· Expertise in Ruby on Rails development 3+ years
· Experience with creating, using, and optimizing SQL databases
· Development experience on UNIX systems (ideally Mac OS X)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to talk to users from application needs
· Ability to work independently and in a small group
· Quality assurance methodology knowledge
· Can build a web software application from scratch
· Strong UI skills, to present data trends
· Written shared procedures
· Flexible to change, this is a fast paced environment
Preferred Experience:
· In-depth knowledge of other scripting languages, e.g. Perl, python, shell scripting
· Familiarity with or experience in SQA / Testing methodology
